Compassion Quotes by great legends to make this earth a better place to live - Happy Living!

“No one has ever become poor by giving.”

“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”  ― Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa (1910-1997) was a Roman Catholic nun, who devoted her life to serving the poor and destitute around the world. She spent many years in Calcutta, India where she founded the Missionaries of Charity, a religious congregation devoted to helping those in great need.

“It is easy enough to be friendly to one's friends. But to befriend the one who regards himself as your enemy is the quintessence of true religion. The other is mere business.”  ―
Mahatma Gandhi

“Compassion hurts. When you feel connected to everything, you also feel responsible for everything. And you cannot turn away. Your destiny is bound with the destinies of others. You must either learn to carry the Universe or be crushed by it. You must grow strong enough to love the world, yet empty enough to sit down at the same table with its worst horrors.” ― Andrew Boyd

“Mama was my greatest teacher, a teacher of compassion, love and fearlessness. If love is sweet as a flower, then my mother is that sweet flower of love”

-Stevie Wonder

Here are the values that I stand for: honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you want to be treated and helping those in need. To me, those are traditional values - Ellen DeGeneres

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” ― Aesop

Little is known about the ancient Greek writer Aesop (c. 620 B.C.E.–c.560 B.C.E.), he was said to have been a slave who earned his freedom through his storytelling and went on to serve as advisor to a king. Both his name and the animist tone of his tales have led some scholars to believe he may have been Ethiopian in origin.

“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive.”  ― Dalai Lama XIV

Dalai Lama means Ocean of Wisdom; Tibetans normally refer to His Holiness as Yizhin Norbu, the Wish-Fulfilling Gem, or simply Kundun, the Presence.
